Model Environments was established in 2015 as a vehicle for three, scientifically-minded friends to put their skills to good use. Between us, we have worked towards a more environmentally sustainable planet for over 50 years.

Remarkably, many daylight consultants only consider windows as a source of day or sunlight and ignore their other purposes (such as heat loss or gain) and the non-visual functions of windows, such as delight, contributing to well-being and providing long-range exercise for our eyes. People like daylight indoors in the right amounts, but despite this, the minimum daylight standards are often used as design targets. We prefer to encourage and help our clients to create comfortable indoor environment with good daylight and pleasing views out. We work with you, at any design stage, to develop good use of daylight and sunlight, balanced with considerations of energy and heat.
As environmental designers, we work with the climate at each site, designing with nature, rather than against it. Plants are our first port of call to enhance comfort and reduce the environmental impact of any building project. Here’s a look at a full list of our services.
